Description

The colored version... came out exactly how I envisioned it, I just wish I could've pushed it a little further. Like, adding blurs. Buuuuut I couldn't for various crappy reasons. And I gave it a cheesy title, yay!

Anyway, this is the first pic for my illustrated novel Fallout... hopefully it will be one of maaaaany.

Pencil sketch on cardstock, 2 hours? Photoshop 7, 7-8 hours? I lost track. I hate that city. Never color cities. Ever.

And just for kicks, here's the part of the story that it comes from (again):

Her soles tore at the ground, scraping at dirt and gravel, as she ran down the path.
Halciel had watched his lips move, as if in silence. She stood there, tense,
absorbing the words as if in slow motion. Her eyes swelled with rage. Her wings
stretched and rustled high above her head, extended to their full reach; a sign of
arousal. Her fists clenched, growing with brightness, and the air around her began
to grow dense and close in on itself.
"Why was I not told?" she snapped.
Her brother was easily a foot or two taller than her, and just as powerful
and intelligent... but even he knew better than to push Hal's patience. "Because I
knew you would do something rash. They all knew."
Halciel flashed with shock. The air bound together more tightly, and Loth
could feel Halciel's power resonate through his chest like the bass of some great
instrument.
"Step aside," she said flatly.
Loth stepped closer to her, blocking her, challenging her. Her wings
extended to their full reach: a warning sign. She closed the small distance between
her and her brother in a short stride, but before she could even react, he had her
in a tight embrace. Hal returned it, yet her expression remained cold; she had her
mind set.
"God be with you."
He let go of her as one would a hot ember. In an instant she was at full
running speed across the path. The path became a cliff of a thousand feet or so; she
dove off the edge and indulged in a few seconds of freefall before she allowed her
wings to spread and capture the air.
The gavel came down. In the Council's chamber, Hal's mother stood humbly in
the center, waiting for her judgement.
