Artist's Comments

This has been another ongoing and almost-given-up-on project, mainly because I can't decide on how to finish it. That's where my precious, precious commenters come in. I'd greatly appreciate feedback on this one, mainly concerning coloring ideas. Feel free to give me any advice you want. These are the options I'm currently considering:

1) Leave it pretty much as is, with everything but Samus as a sketch, but redo the text and Title
2) Halfass cel-shade the non-Samus characters, leaving Samus fully rendered for emphasis
3) Halfass painting-style CG the non-Samus characters, leaving Samus fully rendered for emphasis
4) Full-ass cel-shade everything
5) Full-ass cel-shade everything but de-emphasize all non-Samus characters by means of dimmer or darker colors, etc.

Those are pretty much my ideas right now. I'm leaning toward #2 and #5.

Any other critique is welcome.
All sketches were done separately on several sheets of paper, then composed in Photoshop 7.

this will be phenomenal when it is finished.

-Life is an odd facade of moments pieced together with anger, pain, and lust. ..something just aren't meant to make sense. ironic i s'pose, that those are the things we try hardest to understand.-

Wow. That's just... wow. I do think there's a little too much glowing going on with Samus' armor, seems just a little too bright. Awesome amounts of detail, though (this coming from a guy who wouldn't do a background to save his life.) If it's 2 or 5 I think I like the sound of 5. If you're gonna do it, do it all the way.

One plus one equals one on a bun.
Ah, and i suggest option #2.

its a very busy composition, and I don't think that samus is big enough or stands out enough to just make her the main view point. I really like some of the drawings that are more just in the background, but I think if you did the entire thing it'd really look nice, like in those huge pictures with tons of comic book characters with tons of stuff going on. And its drawn well enough that the business won't be a bad thing. (I really like the overall composition xD)

Thank you DA. I understand now.
you make me feel worthless... / ur stuff is GOD LIKE!
gha. the level of detail causes me to weep. beautiful composition. it looks like your really starting to lick your problem of not going all the the way down and leaving out the feet. but the detail once more is great. it's not so full everywhere that you get distracted by it, it's spaced quite nicley. so yeah love the composition.

now as how to finish it, i think option 5 will work nice, but i wouldn't go too dark or you'll totally lose out an all the work you put into the penciling. also i had an additional idea looking a this. what if you full-assed cged all the stuff behind samus that was closer to the front and gradually began dropping off the level of detail as they went into the background? kind of like a forced perspective with color. like the background was all half-assed, but the stuff that was reaching forward became more distinct the closer it got to the camera/samus?

did that make any sense at all? whatever. damn nice peice so far, i'd love to see it finished, no matter how you chose to do it.
