Warria (on the left) and Sivia (on the right) are (c) to Abby Klem, 2004. This piece was commissioned by her.
Pencil sketches on cardstock, 2 hours
Photoshop 7 with tablet, 6 hours
about 8 hours total.
If you can't tell, I had a lot of fun with this commission... I've never drawn "skeleton armor" before, so I learned what that looked like... and I learned how to make a starfield by using this tutorial...
And I overdid it, considering it's never possible to see that many stars when you're under an atmosphere But oh well. I did try to draw the grass, but it ended up looking painfully bad, so I had to resort to the photoshop grass brush, unfortunately. Aside from a few stray/unground blades, I think it turned out fine.
I didn't mean for the clouds to be transparent, I thought I erased a bunch of those stars, but I guess they survived. Damn longevous stars.
What a great composition! I love the contrast between the two figures... and that armor is just plain cool. I'm rather jealous of your starscape... I can never quite get mine to look right...
I could look at it for hours n never get bored. I love Warria's hair and how the decorations on his costume curve over his body. Sivia's hair is done nicely, too. Hehe, the PS grass brushes can easily be overlooked in light of the awesome sky o_o

Oh, wow! This is soooo pretty! I love the bg! And the charries are so cool, too. It gives off a serene-ness that really glows off the screen. Very gentle and quiet; comforting, even. Awesome job.
